Drumglass High School embarked on the long-anticipated ski trip as travel was once again reinstated. The ski trip took place from 28th January – 4th February 2023 and we stayed in the beautiful resort of Pinzolo, situated in the foothills of the Italian Dolimites. DHS was accompanied by two other secondary schools where all pupils and staff worked together to have a brilliant time!

 

From Drumglass High School, 30 highly excited pupils made the dreaded early started (which was well worth it!) as 3 staff members were appropriately caffeinated to match the shrieks and glee from our pupils! After a few days the routine was down to military precision – up, breakfast, ski boots, helmet, gloves and go! Pupils enjoyed 4 hours of ski lessons over the week where many pupils were quick to advance to the red slopes. Once back down the gondola, it was time to hit the town with some evening activities. We enjoyed a quiz, disco, cinema and pizza night of course to sample the local cuisine!

 

A fabulous week was had by all where a new sport was experienced, friends made, and memories created that will a lifetime! Preparations are well under way for next year’s trip where we will once again return to Italy, with some seasoned skier’s as well as new recruits!
