PE    Department

Welcome to Drumglass High School PE Department.  We are a very active and inclusive department with a lot to offer our young people.  In Drumglass all pupils will experience a variety of sports and have opportunities to attend after school clubs in competitive situations.

At our school we pride ourselves on our smart PE kit supplied by MFC (an online shop) and encourage all pupils to maximise their participation in every lesson and work hard towards improving.  We thank all our parents/guardians for their cooperation with this.  Physical Education is a legal requirement, at Drumglass pupils get 2x50min lessons at Key Stage 3 and 1x50min lesson at Key Stage 4.

We are very fortunate to have the luxury of an on-site fitness suite which is primarily aimed at Key stage 4 pupils.  This is open after school for those members who have completed their inductions

Netball is the main sport at Drumglass High School.  We run an afterschool netball club and recently started competing in the Northern Ireland Netball league.

As a result of great success in our netball games we are arranging this year a netball tour to Manchester. 20 Netball players will travel to Manchester to compete against other schools, train and enjoy some down time with leisure activities.  We look forward to this.

Rugby is a very popular sport at Drumglass HS.   The pupils are introduced to the sport in PE lessons and then have the opportunity to develop their skills and fitness at a weekly after school training session.  Our teams compete in the u12, u14 and the u16 sections of Ulster High Schools Rugby.  Many of our pupils also play for Dungannon RFC youth teams at the weekend and some have even gone on to represent Ulster in age group teams.
